Sinus Infection Treatment Chicago

Sinusitis, also known as rhinosinusitis, is one of the most common and debilitating health problems in the U.S.  In fact, research proves sinusitis is now more common than heart disease and asthma.

Sinusitis: Now Easier To Treat Than Ever Before.

The sinuses are air spaces behind the bones of the upper face, and are located between the eyes and behind the forehead, nose and cheeks. Each of the 4 pairs of sinuses has an opening that allows mucous to drain – this drainage is essential to keeping your sinuses clear.  Anything that obstructs the flow may cause mucous buildup thereby causing chronic inflammation in the sinus lining.  Signs and symptoms of sinusitis may include:

• Facial pain, pressure, congestion or fullness
• Discharge of yellow or green mucus from the nose
• Loss of the sense of smell or taste
• Fatigue
• Bad breath
• Difficulty breathing through the nose
• Teeth pain
• Headache
• Sore throat

Allergy Specialists Provide Quick Accurate Diagnoses and Treatment.

Allergies affect millions of people in America. They can be seasonal (such as pollen and mold allergies) or occur year-round (such as food and pet dander allergies).  Whatever the cause, allergies can make you feel uncomfortable---sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, nasal congestion, skin rash---or cause more serious, life-threatening problems such as shock and airway obstruction.

Allergy Testing: Performed On-Site, Right Away.

We know how valuable your time is.  That's why, when you visit ChicagoENT, we get right down to business.  From a simple blood test to a skin test, we'll diagnose you on-site so we can get you feeling better in no time. Depending on what you're allergic to and how severe the allergy is, we offer a number of treatments, medications, nasal sprays and/or allergy shots (also known as desensitization injections).

Allergy desensitization introduces the allergen into the body in very small quantities. Over time, this allows the body to adapt to this allergen and decreases the body’s reaction to it.  The frequency of injections depends on your particular allergy.

Sometimes, the same disease mechanisms that cause allergies can also lead to asthma.  Please click here to learn more about asthma.
