Doctor of Audiology
“ When I was growing up, we spent a lot of time with my grandfather, who had significant hearing loss and would frequently withdraw from social situations. When I became an audiologist, it helped me to understand how lonely and isolating hearing loss can be, and how important it is to identify and treat those with hearing loss to minimize these effects. I love being able to help those with hearing loss hear and connect with the world around them again.”
Dr. Ellen May graduated cum laude from Stern College for Women and went on to earn her Doctor of Audiology degree at City University of New York. While earning her doctorate, Dr. May worked with many different populations at a variety of sites, including a busy ENT clinic, a hospital clinic, and at her school’s three clinics. For her thesis, Dr. May traveled to Haiti along with her classmate to conduct hearing testing on under-served pediatric patients. Her interests include diagnostics and hearing aids.
