We are proud to now offer at home Sleep Apnea testing at Chicago ENT. This new technology can be used from the comfort of your own home!
How does it work?
ResMed’s ApneaLink Air™ is a compact, lightweight and easy-to-use home sleep testing device. This technology is capable of recording up to five channels of information: respiratory effort, pulse, oxygen saturation, nasal flow and snoring.
The device uses these recordings to produce a report for your sleep medicine specialist. They can read and interpret the results to determine if you have Sleep Apnea, and prescribe the appropriate treatment option.
Pulse Oximeters for Home Sleep Testing
Pulse oximeters, or pulse ox devices, are widely utilized in healthcare for diagnostic testing, bedside monitoring, and consumer wearables. These compact, affordable devices are a convenient alternative to traditional sleep diagnostic equipment, resembling a ring or watch and measuring essential data like oxygen saturation levels and heart rate, which provide valuable insights into a patient’s sleep and breathing patterns.
At Chicago ENT, we offer home sleep studies that utilize pulse oximeters, incorporating advanced technology like EnsoSleep PPG. This AI-driven analysis of PPG signals recorded by pulse oximeters enables our clinicians to effectively identify and diagnose sleep disorders, reaching undiagnosed patient populations and providing a more accurate, efficient sleep assessment in the comfort of your home.
